Our majors are part of a close-knit and supportive community of students, faculty, and staff. We offer small class sizes in all of our Latin and ancient Greek courses, as well as our 300-level and above civilization courses. You’ll work closely with faculty both in and out of the classroom throughout your time in our department.
Most of our majors study abroad for a summer or a year in Rome and Athens. Our students also have opportunities to participate in archaeological digs in Italy, Greece, Turkey, and other locations. You can apply for an array of departmental scholarships and grants to help fund your adventures and your studies.
