The DGS of Classical Studies in consultation with the graduate committee will review requests and decide on awards and amounts of awards with these principles in mind:
- prioritizing awards to as many students as possible
- prioritizing presentations at the Society for Classical Studies
- limiting awards to up to $1,000 for the SCS and $500 for CAMWS and other conferences
- completing the review in a timely manner
- notifying applicant of award or denial, with a brief explanation, if denied
- including the graduate coordinator to participate in review of applications where appropriate
The Chair of Classical Studies will set a total amount of IUF funds to be awarded in each calendar year and communicate this amount to the DGS by the first week of the fall semester. Chair will also review assignment of the IUF account to this grant and make changes as needed.
