Classical Studies has been a wonderful home to marry my deep appreciation for the natural world with my love of literature. I realized this connection during my undergraduate studies at University of Oregon where I first noticed the richness of floral imagery in Vergil’s Aeneid. Since then, my research has been primarily focused on understanding the intricacies of Rome’s relationship with flowers and nature. My goal is to become a Latin teacher so that I can help others realize the beauty in reading primary sources.
